layering skill- assignment 1 process2 (part1)

After created a background for the wallpaper and added in some elements which is using skill selection (http://tanklim88.blogspot.com/2011/06/selection-skill-use-in-assignment-1.html) of course, when the elements drag and drop into the background,new layer is created.

From these pictures, you can see there have 6-7 layers which is the element I selected before. But then I would like to make adjustment for my background by use Brightness / contrast have let the contrast figure more and less brightness to give it an old paper effect like shown in the background. 

Next i would like to change my selection picture with apply the outer glow to make around of it more brightly.

right click to the layer and select the blending option

outer glow- you can select the color which u want effect around the picture u have selected in layers

after color selected, can adjust the opacity, spread limit and glow size

it also can apply on the TM logo, the outer glow can let the text or logo more brightly or have shadow effect

the result which applied the outer glow skill and i arrange them in a site, under the layer position, the picture of logo TM university arrange according to the top and following on is the bee and the MMU logo.

After his, for more easy and tidy, i put these 3 layer into 1 layer. Use shift key to highlight these three layers which i need to combine and right click select the merge layer.

add a ink splatter layer above the text, and use opacity to adjust the transparency at the back.
